You’ve purchased a log cabin and are now waiting for delivery. Here’s exactly what happens next.
Log cabin delivery isn’t like a parcel drop, and it isn’t like the pre-built shed deliveries we also handle. Below is how our team gets your kit to your kerbside, what arrives in the load, and what we need from you on the day.
What Arrives with a Log Cabin Kit Delivery
Unlike how sheds are delivered with pre-assembled panels, every log cabin we deliver comes as a full timber kit — individual boards for the walls, floor and roof sections, ready to assemble on-site.
Log cabin wall system
Log cabin kits use an interlocking timber system. Depending on the model, size, and specification, this involves a significant number of individual pieces.
Walls are supplied as individual log boards. They’re built by stacking horizontal logs that slot together to form the structure. Each part is cut to size in the factory and grouped into labelled packs.
There can be over 100 timber components across the full length of the cabin, and sometimes more than 200 on larger designs. A substantial portion of these components is dedicated to the walls.
For example, a single wall on our log cabins consist of at least 17 individual logs to reach standard height. Across 4 walls, that would be 68 logs, but the front wall typically has more pieces due to interruptions from the door and window frames.
Roof and floor packs
Roof and floor components are packaged separately for on-site assembly. While generally lighter than the wall logs, they can still be long and awkward to handle.
Our delivery team will unload these by hand and take care to avoid bending or damaging the edges. After unloading, the parts are laid out on the kerbside.
Log Cabin Delivery Day Process in the UK
Here’s what you can expect on arrival, unloading, and placement at your property boundary.
Split deliveries
Smaller cabins arrive on a single lorry. For our larger models (typically larger than 4.5×3.5 metres) the kit is split across two vehicles to stay within transport limits.
One vehicle may carry the main wall logs, while another brings roof and floor packs along with fittings. Both loads are delivered on the same day, although they may not arrive at the same time.
Arrival and unloading method
We deliver kerbside only. The driver will position the vehicle as close to your property as access allows. Unloading is done manually once the vehicle is parked.
Wall logs are lifted off by hand from the truck and placed in manageable stacks on the ground. Roof and floor packs are handled in the same way, although they are usually lighter and quicker to unload.
Placement at the property boundary
We place your materials at the nearest safe point outside the property. This may be your driveway, front garden, or roadside edge, depending on access.
The timber is heavy in sections; it’s often carried in smaller loads. Our drivers do not carry materials into the back gardens or assemble components, as this can create liability problems in the event of injury.
How to Prepare for Your Log Cabin Delivery Day
The unloading is handled for you, but you can help by keeping the route clear of obstacles (along the path the team will take) to speed things up and reduce the risk of damaging the boards.
Access to your property needs to be wide and straightforward enough for the delivery team to move the materials.
- Level out uneven ground along the access route.
- Clear tight corners or narrow sections where possible.
- Make sure the front gates are fully open and not restricting the width.
- Trim back overhanging branches* that could restrict space for the vehicle at the kerbside.
* You can trim overhanging branches if they are on your property or you have permission from the landowner.
Also, make sure there’s enough space in the garden to receive the materials. This can be a flat surface in your garden, patio (where space allows), or near the area where you plan to install the log cabin.
Take note of these UK garden laws to make sure you don’t intrude on your neighbours’ rights.

FAQ
Can the delivery team move the parts into my back garden?
No — our drivers are insured for kerbside or driveway drop only. Carrying heavy timber through a property is against our company policy.
This is due to injury risk, potential property damage, and liability. Once the materials are delivered to the kerbside, responsibility for moving them to your build site is yours.
What tools do I need to set up the log cabin?
You’ll need basic tools such as a tape measure, spirit level, hammer, drill, screwdriver set, and a mallet, along with anything listed in the instruction manual supplied with the kit.
What should I do if a part is missing or damaged?
Thoroughly check the entire product and take note of any damage or missing items against the parts list. Note the number down and contact our customer service team on 01919 768840 so the correct replacement parts can be sent to you.
